South DeKalb Gets Serious About Development
DeKalb County just launched a major study to figure out how South DeKalb can catch up to the north side. We're talking about a real plan with professional consultants and Wells Fargo funding.
The focus is smart. Instead of starting over, they want to build on what's already there. Think South DeKalb Mall and other business centers that could become community anchors. The goal is bringing in jobs and investment while making sure longtime residents benefit too.
Community input starts this winter. Final recommendations come in early 2026. This could be the roadmap South DeKalb has been waiting for.
